Leadership Interests

Leadership is a feature of so many aspects of life and so many cross-references, whether dealing with cultures or disciplines, whether dealing with public or private sector organisations, whether dealing with community or voluntary sector, there is a vast store of experiences and knowledge to be explored.

Views are welcome from professional law enforcement agencies, individuals, academics, community groups or representatives, all those interested in identifying good practice and willing to share experiences, expertise, knowledge and skills.

Papers on Police Research, Management, Leadership, Control, Accountability are of particular interest. Police in a Democratic Society have a difficult and challenging task. Being policed in a democratic society raises some interesting and challenging concepts. Affording accused persons their constitutional rights while ensuring that citizens are protected from attack and injury from criminal activity, is a finely tuned balance of judgement. Legal experts spend months and years teasing out the nuances that determine the legitimacy of actions, frequently perpetrated in seconds or minutes.
